Taekwon Coffee stands out in Bernardsville as a compact, no-frills coffee spot that blends daily convenience with a neighborhood rhythm. Situated on Minebrook Road, this cafe shares its space with a taekwondo school upfront and a laundromat out back, creating an atmosphere that’s more like a small community hub than just a coffee stop.

The coffee offerings here lean toward the straightforward but thoughtfully prepared—French Vanilla Latte and iced coffee have drawn particular appreciation, especially from those wanting a quick yet satisfying caffeine boost. Bubble tea adds a playful twist to the menu, with flavors like mango and strawberry appealing to younger crowds and anyone in the mood for a sweeter refreshment. The prices are reasonable, supporting the local, working-class vibe of the place.

Inside, expect a cozy, intimate setting with a warm glow from a fireplace, making it a quiet spot to read or work for an hour or two. The seating is limited but comfortable, emphasizing a laid-back, unhurried pace where locals might drop in to grab a cup between errands or while waiting for laundry cycles. The friendly and attentive staff keep the mood welcoming, often adding small gestures like stickers for visitors who support the business, reinforcing a feeling of community connection.

Taekwon Coffee is best during quieter weekday mornings or early afternoons, when you’re more likely to find a seat and enjoy the soft murmur of the laundromat alongside the coffee aromas. It suits those who appreciate straightforward, well-crafted drinks without the polish of larger chains, and anyone curious about experiencing a slice of Bernardsville’s everyday life where multiple local services converge.

Truly the epitome of a working class family. Taekwondo next door. Boba/coffee shop in front. And washing machine/dry cleaners in the back. With a mean cup of ice coffee, you can’t help but want to come and support this business! The lady in the front was very nice and offered us some stickers for supporting her business! Would come again with a book or some work to enjoy the space that smells of coffee and clean clothes.

We stopped in here for a coffee and received the best service. The coffee was delicious and smooth and our server even included an extra green tea so my boyfriend wouldn’t leave empty handed. The atmosphere was cozy and I kind of love how they had a laundromat in the back. It was a cool experience and I look forward to going back!

Super cute coffee shop, with a warm friendly vibe, and very kind, attentive staff. Had an iced latte and tea which were both tasty and got to sit next to a cozy fireplace. Would definitely visit again next time I'm in town.

Cozy spot for coffee, tea, and bubble tea. Mango bubble tea comes as you like it (among other flavors). Delightful decor and comfy chairs. Laundromat in back. Friendly service.

it's such a cute place! it has a very homey feel to it and there are so many nice plants around. We got boba from there, and it was a bit too sweet, but still very tasty. The lady at the counter was so nice though, and gave each of the drinks a matching straw and a cute sticker.

Such a wonderful find! Came back to NJ for a few weeks to visit my parents, and it’s such a shame I’ll only have a few chances to come here! The person who served me was very kind, the taro tea was delicious and reasonably priced, and they even were giving out plant cuttings to customers! Definitely give them a try—they have a laundromat in the back and only opened last spring, 2020.
